House Dedication
ceremony
Recently, Habitat for
Humanity Zambia held a House Dedication Ceremony at Tiyende
Pamodzi affiliate in Lusaka, along Great North Road. A total of
39 houses were dedicated. Each of the 39 homeowners received a
Bible to symbolize the Love and Teachings of Jesus Christ, a
principle upon which Habitat is based. The house Dedication
Ceremony also coincided with the closing ceremony for the Global
Village team from Ireland. To officiate at this ceremony was
Executive Director for Bible Society of Zambia.
In a continued effort to sensitise as many people as are willing
to listen, Habitat for Humanity Zambia undertakes special
projects and builds. These aim at covering broad expanses of
objectives such as cultural exchange, wide-scale participation
and far-reaching publicity and clarification of the activities
undertaken by the Ministry.
These special projects are held with no specific calendar in
mind and can be tailored to best suit the readiness of all
involved. The projects can best be described as working models
of Habitat's work in the nation. They involve vast amounts of
time resources as they are often in partnership with individuals
and organisations from diverse backgrounds and cultures and it
is essential that all factors are controlled to make their
exposure to activities as comfortable and safe as possible.
Standard Chartered Bank Zambia Ltd has shown interest in working
with Habitat for Humanity Zambia to build houses for Orphans and
Vulnerable Children and female headed households. A special
build will be hosted to celebrate the building of the houses.
More details later
MTN Zambia has also shown interest in partnering with Habitat
for Humanity Zambia to build houses for the needy families in
