Ms. Magdalena Sepulveda Carmona
United Nations expert on Human Rights and extreme poverty, Magdalena Sepulveda Carmona, came to Zambia to analyse the social protection measures being implemented locally. Her visit to Zambia was on invitation from the government. She met representatives from the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, UN Representatives, the Donor Community, NGO’s and communities living in extreme poverty in Lusaka, Chipata, Katete and Chirundu. Ms. Carmona wanted to collect first hand information on the situation of people living in extreme poverty.

During her visit, Ms. Carmona met the HFH Zambia National Director Petronella Shiaka briefly and shared information on the work of HFH Zambia with regard to the Vulnerable Group Housing Programme that HFH Zambia is implementing with funding from Irish Aid. Ms. Carmona also had the opportunity to visit HFH Zambia housing units in Chazanga and was introduced to the local community that had been mobilised by SOS, one of HFH Zambia's cooperating partners.
