ZAMBIA WOMEN BUILD AMBASSADORS FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
On 22nd October 2010, First Lady of Zambia, Mrs. Thandiwe Banda and other Habitat for Humanity Zambia Women Build Ambassadors; Mrs. Chilufya Mwaba-Phiri, Reverend Kuzipa Nalwamba and Mrs. Christine Mulundika graciously gave hands-on support to the Zambia Women Build Project Awareness and Fund raising initiative that aimed to raise awareness on issues affecting women in Zambia but as well make a call on the local corporate organisations to contribute financially to the Habitat for Humanity program.

Irish reality-based TV show visits Habitat for Humanity Zambia
In August, Do the Right Thing an Irish Reality-based TV show that celebrates all that is good about the human spirit by putting a call for aspiring volunteers from all walks of life with a passion for helping others brought down to Habitat for Humanity Zambia sixteen volunteer finalists to participate in a three-day build.

Women Build Ambassador leads by example!
In August, Mrs. Chilufya Mwaba-Phiri, Director of Zambia Health Education and Communications Trust showed leadership in bringing together women from the Catholic Women’s League to volunteer their time and ‘sweat equity’ to build a home for Elebesi Tembo, an 80 year old widow of Chazanga compound has not been spared from this HIV/AIDS and orphan pandemic that has hit Zambia. |

HFHZ appoints new Resource Development and Communictaions Manager
In June, 2010, HFH Zambia was happy to welcome into the Habitat family, Linda Sharon Mafonko as its new Resource Development and Communications Manager.
Linda has come onboard to take up a challenging position and lead this department to greater achievements. |

World Habitat Day 2010
As designated by United Nations that the 1st Monday of October every year as World Habitat Day (WHD) to reflect on the state of Human settlements and the basic right to adequate shelter for all. Unlike previous years in Zambia, the WHD was organised by the Civic Forum on Housing & Habitat (CFHH), of which Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a member.
