	World Habitat Day 2009 The United Nations designated the first Monday of October every year as World Habitat Day. This is to reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right of all of access to adequate shelter. It is also intended to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat.
	HFHZ National Director appointed to the National Housing Forum The National Director of HFH Zambia, Ms. Petronella Shiaka, is expected among many things, to spearhead the promotion of the National Habitat Agenda in close collaboration with the UN HABITAT mandate.
	World AIDS Day 2009 HIV/AIDS is Zambia’s most challenging development problem today. Of the population over age fifteen, twenty percent are estimated to be infected with HIV.
	UN expert on Human Rights and extreme poverty United Nations expert on human rights and extreme poverty, Magdalena Sepulveda Carmona, came to Zambia to analyse the social protection measures being implemented locally.
