Last year in October, HFHZ welcomed the CEO of Habitat for Humanity International, Jonathan Reckford, and the Vice President of AME, Greg Foster.
Mr. Reckford was visiting the Africa and Middle East Region and Zambia was one of the countries that he visited. He spent a day in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, where he visited the HFH Zambia office and met the national office staff. He also got to see the work that HFH Zambia is doing and its achievements thus far. During his brief but pleasant stay in Zambia, Mr. Reckford also had the opportunity to meet the HFH Zambia Patron, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.
Mr. Reckford then attended the HFHZ 2,000th House Dedication Ceremony, which he also officiated by giving the new homeowner, Mary Chimfwembe, the keys to her new house. He thanked the Tiyende Pamodzi Community, HFHZ, its staff as well as its partners and donors for believing that we can have the “audacity” to solve poverty in Zambia.
He concluded the day by having dinner with the Board of Directors who also had a chance to sit and talk with him.
